PASTRY CHEF/PROFESSIONAL BAKER
Expertise or competency in producing premium quality eggless baked goods/products which includes wide types/range of breads along with rolls, wraps, donuts, cakes, cookies, pies and wide variety of desserts by using bakery equipment and prepare recipes to create consistent and quality lip-smacking items for our first bakery outlet titled One Wish Bakers, a reputable bespoke cake boutique based in Kharar, Mohali.
Role/Responsibilities:
• Stocking as well as checking and ordering ingredients
• Preparing, setting and testing new recipes and flavours
• Raking interesting ideas for new product range
• Weighing and measuring ingredients on selected/assigned item
• Operating mixers and blenders
• Kneading, rolling and shaping dough
• Placing amp; monitoring dough or items in ovens
• Sourcing reliable of ingredients
• Working efficiently within timeframe
• Applying innovative cake decorative designs and themes in different categories for all types of occasions
• Possess artistic skills in preparing and packaging items for wedding invites or return gifts
• Displaying astute craftsmanship for wedding cakes
• Creating, decorating cakes/pastries and other desserts using range of sauces, toppings etc.,
• Expert knowledge of making a full range/variety of breads and bread based savory specialties
• Managing inventory and restricting waste by scheduling or identifying optimum revenue
• Able to calculate item costs as per budget
• Coping to work independently or with team
Skill sets:
• Proven skills in baking, pastry preparation and preparation
• Creativity: Artistic ability to design attractive cakes, breads and desserts to taste and look delicious.
• Interpersonal: Good interaction and cooperative with all kitchen staff, customers and vendors to develop a friendly and helpful environment.
• Multi-tasking: Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen and need to balance creating beautiful pastry items with organizing budgets, supplies and schedules.
• Attention to detail: Bakers need to follow recipes precisely and ensure all measurements and baking times are accurate.
• Knowledge and Respect for hygienic working space and process by adhering to health and safety procedures.
• Strength and Stamina: Bakers often spend long hours standing and working on their feet. They are constantly moving and lifting items and might operate large baking equipment.
• Organization & Patience: They should be well-organized and attentive to every step of the baking process. These professionals need the patience to allow baked goods to cook to perfection. They should avoid rushing the baking process or skipping steps.
Academic/Professional Qualification:
• Certified degree/diploma in Culinary Arts, Patisserie, food production and cooking is preferable/advantageous
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience
• Awareness of manual handling techniques
• Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
• Experience of kitchen equipment usage and maintenance
• Understandable level of spoken and written English communication
