Position: Paint Lead

Location: Chakan, Pune

Work Schedule: Monday to Saturday

Experience: 10-14 years, preferably in the manufacturing industry or related sectors

Job Summary: The Paint Lead will be responsible for managing and overseeing all paint operations within the manufacturing unit. This includes powder coating paint processes, vendor management, SAP data maintenance, and ensuring all painted products meet our high-quality standards. The role demands a strong background in the manufacturing industry, excellent negotiation skills, and experience in managing a team of technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Paint Operations Management:
• Oversee the entire paint process, including surface preparation, powder coating, curing, and finishing.
• Ensure the application of paint meets all quality and specification standards.
• Vendor Management:
• Negotiate and finalize contracts with paint vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely supply of materials.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, train, and mentor a team of paint technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Manage team schedules, workload, and performance evaluations.
• SAP and Data Maintenance:
• Utilize SAP for inventory management, billing, and tracking paint usage.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all paint operations, including quality inspections and maintenance logs.
• Quality Assurance:
• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all products meet stringent quality standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of paint processes and finished products.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in paint technology and techniques.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
• Ensure all paint operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a safe working environment and conduct regular safety training for the team.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of paint operations within the manufacturing process.
• Participate in planning and strategy meetings to align paint operations with overall manufacturing goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience:
• 10-14 years of experience in paint operations, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
• Extensive experience with powder coating paint processes.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in SAP for data maintenance, billing, and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of paint application techniques and quality control principles.
• Leadership Skills:
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team of technicians.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Analytical Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on process optimization.
