Job Description

An operating theatre (OT) technician is a medical professional who prepares and maintains the operating room and equipment, and assists the surgical team during procedures. Their responsibilities include:

• Preparing the operating room Ensuring the operating room is clean, safe, and ready for each patient. This includes checking and cleaning the operating table and accessories, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Preparing the patient Cleaning and disinfecting the surgical site, and positioning the patient on the operating table.
• Assisting the surgical team Assisting the surgeon, anesthetist, and OT nurse during the procedure. This may include transferring operating instruments to the surgeon, adjusting the operating lights, and assisting with the application of a tourniquet.
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment Checking and maintaining the cleanliness and working order of equipment, such as suction and diathermy machines, and operating lights.
• Maintaining records Checking for inaccuracies in patient records, and performing daily inventory checks.
• Cleaning and disposing of materials Cleaning the operating room and patient after surgery, and disposing of any residual materials properly.

OT technicians work in hospitals, healing centers, and other facilities that perform surgeries. They are needed for a variety of surgical procedures, including general, gynecology, neurosurgery, plastic, and urology.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?12,000.00 - ?15,000.00 per month
