Job Description

The Operation Theatre Staff Nurse is responsible for overseeing the operational and clinical activities within the operating theatre. This role involves ensuring the highest standards of patient care, coordinating surgical teams, and maintaining the efficiency of the operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs pre-operatively and provide necessary nursing interventions.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes during surgery.
• Ensure effective communication with patients and their families regarding surgical procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff within the operating theatre.
• Organize the schedule for surgical procedures, ensuring efficient use of resources and personnel.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless surgical operations.
• Participate in surgical team meetings and contribute to clinical decision-making.
• Implement and monitor infection control practices and maintain sterile conditions in the operating room.
• Ensure proper documentation of surgical procedures and patient care activities.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits related to surgical services.
• Mentor and train junior nursing staff and nursing students in operating room protocols and procedures.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in surgical nursing and operating room technologies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month

• Diploma (Preferred)

Experience:

• Nursing: 5 years (Required)
• Operation Theatre: 3 years (Required)
