Senior Product Specialist


Qualification :


Science / Engineering Graduate
• Responsibility:Project Management: ' Provide inputs for estimation, impact analysis in their area of work.
• Report time, effort and status accurately.
• Participate in periodic internal review meetings.
• Report status regularly to the Senior Product Specialist / Product Consultant.

Design and Implementation :


• Create detailed design document/technical specifications, for select projects.
• Create efficient and quality code based on given specifications.
• Follow product standards, quality assurance norms and guidelines.
• Conduct peer reviews during coding and testing.
• Log peer review defects in the appropriate tool.
• Provide support to the Senior Product Specialist in defect analysis and resolution.
• Participate in deployment activities like reviewing all deliverables as per the delivery checklist, preparing/reviewing deployment document and mock testing all deliverables.
• Develop reusable components.
• Create product based KT document, for the customer.

Testing :


• Create unit test cases and perform unit testing.
• Share the test documents with the customer for review , when required.

Capability Building :


• Provide trainings in areas of specialization to the Product Analyst.

Knowledge Management :


• Contribute towards updating knowledge assets.

The following details form the basis of the scope of responsibilities, duties and accountability of the role of Subject Matter Expert.


Job Responsibilities


Key Duties / Responsibilities:


• This level covers positions that have a Subject Matter understanding of SCADA, PLC, OPC, Continuous/Batch Historians and DCS Based control systems, including network topology concepts.


• Expert understanding of PI Architecture.
• Expert understanding of operational principals of RtReports and has created templates for customer. Capable of training other Engineers on RT Reports.


• Subject matter expert level of understanding in implementing, configuring and troubleshooting of OSI PI Interfaces including but not limited to OPC DA, PItoPI, RDBMS, UFL, EMDVB and SISBatch and customized interfaces. Has successfully implemented within multiple client projects.


• Subject Matter Expert understanding of how SQL Databases are setup & administered with respect to PI systems, in addition to Oracle installation, query and view structuring.
• Ability to write instructions for installation, configuration and troubleshooting of interfaces in line with TQS standard and OSI recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in consulting with global clients for PI System deployment and development of Integration strategies.


• Performs all the functions of the Lead Engineer.


• Manages the Level 1, 2 and Lead Engineers.
• Conducts Performance Evaluations on Level 1, 2 and Lead Engineers and deals with any performance issues that arise, with the support of Human Resources.
• Performs significant role in representing TQS at pre-sales activities with clients.


• Performs front-end studies and Deep Dives with global clients, consulting with the clients directly on PI System deployment and integration strategies.
• Manages the allotted hours of the various engineers, in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Collaborates with the Account Manager to understand potential projects and scope.
• Sources new business opportunities with new and existing clients, by recommending TQS solutions and resources to client issues.


• Assumes responsibility for all technical issues that arise with client projects.
• Manages Projects with no supervision.


• Provides feedback on Level 1 and 2 engineers and Lead Engineer for performance evaluations.
• Manages Project timelines in conjunction with the SME and PM, ensuring both are informed of any potential changes to the project.
• Ensures Project deliverables are technically correct and of the highest quality.
• Works with considerable autonomy in carrying out role.
• Can support and represent TQS in large scale technical sales initiatives and global business site visits.


• All responsibilities and decision making of Lead Engineer.
• Work is reviewed by Senior Management, with respect to adherence to broad objectives and progress towards goals.
• May be assigned work by the Project Manager.


• Provides input for quotations or proposals to prospective or existing clients, in conjunction with Business Development.


• Manages the quality and output of work for Level 1, 2 and Lead Engineers.


• Manages day-to-day performance of above staff and deals with any performance issues that arise.
• Comply with TQS Integration ISO 27001 Information Security Management System requirements i.e. perform you work while protecting the confidentiality, availability and integrity of assets from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Comply with TQS Integration's ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements i.e. perform your work according to your process documents, procedures and maintaining document information/completing department forms/records as required.


• Understand and apply our quality policy statement in all aspects of your work.


• Contribute towards achieving TQS Integration's company objectives.


• Ensure that the needs and requirements of TQS Integration's internal staff and customers are understood and delivered.
• Help develop and improve TQS Integration's internal processes and management system by reporting corrective actions, updates and improvement ideas.


• Other Ad Hoc duties as they arise.


Key Requirements


• Master's degree in IT, Automation, Science or Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 48 months of experience in programming and GxP environment.


• Has 24 months of experience in Managing staff and smaller projects.


• Level 200 Accredited.
