We, at Satopradhan seeking a dedicated and experienced Organic Farm Manager to oversee our organic farm's day-to-day operations and long-term success. As an Organic Farm Manager, you will manage all aspects of farm production, ensure compliance with organic certification standards, and promote sustainable farming practices. This position offers an opportunity to lead a passionate team cultivating high-quality organic produce while contributing to environmental stewardship.Job responsibilities:Crop and Soil Management:
  • Planning crop rotation schedules to optimise soil fertility and prevent pest and disease buildup.
  • Implementing organic farming techniques such as composting, green manures, and biological pest control.
  • Monitor soil health and nutrient levels and make adjustments as needed.
Production Planning:
  • Developing planting and harvesting schedules based on seasonal requirements and market demand.
  • Managing greenhouse operations, if applicable, to extend the growing season or start seedlings.
  • Ensuring that all production activities adhere to organic certification standards.
Pests and Diseases Management:
  • Identifying and diagnosing pest and disease issues.
  • Implementing organic pest management strategies, such as crop rotation, beneficial insect release, and organic-approved sprays.
Equipment and Infrastructure Management:
  • Maintaining farm equipment and ensuring its proper functioning.
  • Overseeing repairs and scheduling maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Managing infrastructure projects such as irrigation systems, fencing, and farm buildings.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
  • Developing and managing budgets for farm operations.
  • Monitoring expenses and optimising resource allocation.
  • Tracking farm profitability and identifying areas for cost savings or revenue growth.
Team Leadership and Training:
  • Supervising farm workers and seasonal labour and motivating the team to achieve production goals.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and labour regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Monitoring industry trends and technological advancements in organic farming.
  • Experimenting with new techniques or crops to improve farm productivity and sustainability.
  • Evaluating farm performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven organic farming management experience and a strong understanding of organic certification standards.
  • Excellent leadership with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and environmental conservation principles.
  • Familiarity with farm equipment operation and maintenance.
