Job Family Descriptor This is an individual contributor position in the Programmable Technology Team. The team focuses on longer term new technologies on the horizon with major business impacting potentials and has a comprehensive overview of various emerging technologies related to programmable networking & automation. The main focus of the role is developing automation and orchestration solutions working with external suppliers as well as internal cross-functional teams. Specifically, be responsible for building and supporting service orchestration through Cisco network services orchestration platform for software defined network capabilities. As part of this role responsibilities, the individual will collaborate in the design, implementation, integration, deployment, and support of network automation & service orchestration platforms. Furthermore, this individual role is to provide technical implementation services to support the evolution and ongoing support of multi-cloud connects rollout, upgrades, service and feature enhancements and for remediation/break-fix services. The work is always in alignment to the current and approved architectural, roadmaps, technology standards and templates, governance and change management policies set forth in collaboration with CFT and/or vendor supplier. The successful candidate will actively participate in the qualification process of orchestration platforms and solutions (specifically related to cisco NSO) as well as collaborate with other teams and resolve outstanding technical issues to determine and document root cause analysis and corrective action plans. She/He will be responsible for building and executing test plans including functional and end to end test, regression, pre-production and post-production phases. She/He will participate in feature planning from an early stage, collaborating with engineering and product teams as well as vendors/suppliers. Broad outline of the Role Analyzing and testing new features and improvements in implemented solutions as well as testing vendor orchestration platforms in collaboration with the suppliers., Design, develop, maintain, test, deploy & troubleshoot automated network services, service orchestration specific features. Advanced knowledge for management/build/troubleshooting of orchestration technologies for virtual network functions (VNFs) in cloud and virtualized edge environments. Experience in various VNF Life Cycle Management design and Orchestrators (VNF Onboarding, Service Chaining, etc ) Cisco NSO Function Pack development knowledge in Resource Manager, ESC, NFVO, VNFM and SDWAN 6+ years of experience in data center network engineering, automation and service orchestration. 3+ years of experience in developing and building automation capabilities. Knowledge of the NETCONF, RESTCONF, and YANG IETF standards and applying them to program network devices through network services. Preferred to have Network Programmability skills in SDN, REST APIs, NETCONF, YANG, JSON, and XML Experience writing YANG data models. Experience developing Cisco NSO Service Applications, Templates and NEDs (Network Element Drivers). Other knowledge/skills Experience in Networking Protocols (DHCP, DNS, VPN etc.) and Network elements such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls etc Knowledge of telecommunications and networking technologies (TCP/IP, Ethernet, IP/MPLS, VPN, SDWAN, etc ) Knowledge of Cloud computing (i.e., Azure, AWS and RHOSP), Data Center, Virtualization, Storage and Networking is desirable. Experience in Linux Operating System with administration, scripting skills, CI/CD process and DevOps tools. Knowledge of Leaf-spine architecture and switching techniques. Experience on Cisco Nexus Platform, Nexus with VPC concepts Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate and share innovative approaches and ideas. Strong verbal and written communication, as well as team collaboration skills combined with the willingness to learn.
