Role : Oracle Database Administrator
Experience : 2 to 4 Years.
Location : Bangalore
Key Responsibilities: Database Administration:
• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (versions 12c/19c/21c).
• Manage Oracle database environments, including production, staging, and development.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patching, backups, and recoveries.
• Optimize database performance by monitoring and tuning queries, memory allocation, and indexes.
Data Guard Management:
• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle DataGuard for disaster recovery and high availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot DataGuard synchronization issues and switchover/failover processes.
• Ensure standby databases are up-to-date and perform regular DR drills.
Security and Compliance:
• Implement database security policies, including user roles, privileges, and data encryption.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and data protection regulations specific to the insurance sector.
• Manage database audits and resolve identified vulnerabilities.
Project-Specific Tasks:
• Collaborate with application teams to design database schemas and integrate with insurance applications.
• Support insurance-related data migrations and transformations, ensuring data integrity.
• Work closely with stakeholders to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for uptime and performance.
Documentation and Support:
• Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide on-call support for critical issues and participate in 24x7 rotational shifts.
• Train junior DBAs and support team members on Oracle DataGuard and database best practices.
Required Qualifications:
• Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience:
• 3 to years as an Oracle DBA, with at least 1 years focusing on Oracle DataGuard.
• Proven experience in managing databases for financial or insurance applications is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in Oracle DataGuard, RAC, and ASM.
• Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL scripting, and performance tuning.
• Experience with backup solutions like RMAN.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix OS for database management.
• Familiarity with insurance domain-specific databases and regulatory requirements.
