Job Title: Oracle Cloud Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking a skilled Oracle OCI Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. As an OCI DBA, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, support, and maintenance of Oracle databases hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. You will work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our Oracle database environments.
Job Responsibilities:
• Database Installation and Configuration:
• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Autonomous Databases.
• Design and deploy Oracle databases on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) using best practices.
• Implement best practices for database security and performance tuning.
• Database Monitoring and Maintenance:
• Monitor database performance and ensure availability and uptime.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and patching.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement solutions to optimize database performance and stability.
• Optimize database performance through monitoring, tuning, and implementing performance enhancements.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schema and queries.
• Security Management:
• Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and guidelines.
• Automation and Scripting:
• Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline database operations.
• Implement and maintain database automation for routine tasks.
• Capacity Planning and Scaling:
• Plan and implement database capacity upgrades and scaling as needed.
• Monitor resource usage and recommend infrastructure changes.
• Backup and Recovery:
• Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies.
• Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Generate regular reports on database health, performance, and security.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Oracle database administration, including experience with Oracle Autonomous Database.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience:
• Previous experience as a database administrator, specifically with Oracle databases.
• Experience with cloud-based databases and infrastructure (preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
• Problem-Solving Skills:
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other IT professionals.
• Certifications (Preferred):
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification in database administration.
• Oracle Autonomous Database Specialist certification (if available).
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
