Operations Support Advisor

Job Description

• Work closely with interdependent groups such as Operations and Finance. Develop relationships with those teams and ensure that processes are working effectively and efficiently
• Participate in assigned LEAN or Continuous Improvement projects, building knowledge and experience of methodology and tools
• Routinely examine existing and new procedures. Seek process improvements and efficiency. Support ad-hoc projects assigned by Team Leader
• Create and submit a variety of reports by consolidating internal information, evaluating the data and formatting it. These reports go to internal and external customers, including government entities.
• Build relationship with OSP's to ensure FTR permit on behalf of SIETCO
• Contribute to the compiling of metrics for team performance management and contribution to the business
• Customs permits and free trade agreements submission
• Maintain Operations manuals and other material in the Operations on-boarding website, together with desk leads.
• Support: Analysing and processing non-oil invoices.
• Maintain "first time right" mentality and behaviours.
• Assistance with audits when required.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to share learnings


Customers include companies within the Shell Trading network and its Supply company affiliates. The work is carried out using a wide range of Trading and Scheduling IT Systems such as DEX and RADAR. Continuous Improvement is a core function of the team.

Please note intended shift times are Monday to Friday 7:00 - 16:00 Chennai time.

Experience and Qualifications Required

• University degree and/or equivalent work experience.
• Evidenced ability to cover multiple roles, including roles on other desks and taking on additional projects.
• Evidenced ability to understand end to end processes and the impacts of those processes on the book of record.
• Handle a high volume of transactions in an efficient and accurate manner
• Must be able to deal with competing priorities and be able to maximize value in a fast paced environment.
• Evidence of an orientation towards learning and application of that learning to problem solving
• Working knowledge of LEAN or other CI tools will be highly considered.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
