Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee all aspects of apparel manufacturing within our company. As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production process, from sourcing materials to final product delivery. Your expertise in managing production timelines, optimizing resources, and maintaining quality standards will be essential to meet customer demands and achieve production targets. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement production plans and schedules to ensure timely completion of orders while maintaining high-quality standards. Coordinate with the sales and design teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into feasible production plans.
• Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials, to maximize productivity and minimize production costs. Monitor inventory levels and liaise with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of required materials.
• Establish and enforce strict quality control measures throughout the production process. Conduct regular inspections, identify potential quality issues, and take corrective actions to ensure compliance with product specifications and industry standards.
• Continuously evaluate production processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. Implement process enhancements and lean manufacturing techniques to drive productivity gains.
• Lead and supervise a team of production staff, including supervisors, technicians, and operators. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high-performing and motivated workforce. Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Monitor and analyse production metrics, such as production output, efficiency, and quality indicators. Prepare regular reports on production performance, identify trends, and recommend strategies to meet or exceed production targets.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, safety guidelines, and ethical standards. Foster a safe working environment, implement safety protocols, and conduct regular safety training for production personnel.
• Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to source materials, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships. Monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues, and identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree in operations management, or a related field. Relevant certifications or specialized training in apparel manufacturing are advantageous.
• Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role within the apparel manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, including cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality control.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation techniques.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards related to apparel manufacturing.
