Job Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to manage a team of Individual Contributors that ensure that financial transactions are properly accounted for and classified within the company\'s financial statements in accordance with company policy and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). This role will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of monthly accounting processes for Lowe\xe2\x80\x99s Pro Supply. This role will be responsible for providing inputs into the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including monthly Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flows, and Executive Reporting Analyses, and will be responsible for conducting research and providing commentary and insights for significant variances to forecast and plan. Roles & Responsibilities: Core Responsibilities:
  • Manages a team of individual contributors and provides them with direction, feedback and oversees their work to ensure a high standard of excellence.
  • Executes financial activities in a timely and efficient manner. Manages and performs moderately complex financial analysis (i.e., forecasting, variance analysis, contract reviews, etc.) and reconciliations to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, with a focus on activities that require knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and business processes.
  • Manages projects/initiatives and/or participates in broader entity wide projects, working with and directing teams within accounting to deliver the best solutions to financial issues.
  • Prepares and evaluates reports to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ensures appropriate supporting documents, provisions, and other details for journal entries and account reconciliations are maintained and documented prior to approval.
  • Research various financial activities to identify moderately complex issues, explaining findings to managers, and directors to determine resolution
  • Partners with the business to understand new transactions or changes in the business to ensure accounting processes are properly designed and updated timely.
  • Performs ongoing review of existing processes to identify process improvements and to drive efficiencies.
  • Executes testing around financial controls to provide documentation and support for SOX compliance in respective financial area.
  • Communicates effectively within the team, across other functions, and directly with auditors to resolve questions and issues.
Experience: Required:
  • 10 years - overall combined experience in accounting (industry or public)
  • 4 years \xe2\x80\x93 accounting experience in large ERP environment (Oracle and/or PeopleSoft preferred)
  • 2 years \xe2\x80\x93 experience managing teams of individual contributors
Preferred:
  • Experience with process improvements/system enhancements/automation related to accounting functions
  • Experience performing and/or reviewing account reconciliations
Education Qualification & Certifications (optional) Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting, Information Systems or other related field
  • CA/CPA (preferred)
Skill Set Required Primary Skills (must have)
  • Ensure Accountability - Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.
  • Accounting and Retail Acumen \xe2\x80\x93 deep understanding of corporate accounting processes in the areas of General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Payables, as well as working retail knowledge relating to inventory, accounts receivables, vendor funding, rebates, etc.
  • Self-motivated, strong leadership skills and excellent verbal/written skills
  • Excellent time management/organizational skills
  • Being Organizationally Savvy - The ability to maneuver well to accomplish work within own function and with strategic business partners. This includes the ability to build and grow a network of partnerships, develop an understanding of formal and informal decision-making processes, and leverage knowledge of functional and cross-functional operations to accomplish work objectives.

This includes the ability to convey a compelling message, engage the audience, and adapt the message, delivery, and point-of-view based on the audience\'s real-time or anticipated reactions. This also includes active listening, and eliciting questions, participation, and buy-in from the audience.
  • Solve Complex Problems - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
