Job Overview
As the Operations Excellence Manager for the Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific (AFAP) Business Group, this role manages the AFAP Operations Excellence Reporting and Analyst function which plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of operations within the region. The primary responsibility being to manage central reporting and analysis tasks, providing critical insights to enhance operational processes and decision-making. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to support operational excellence, identify areas for improvement, and implement system solutions that contribute to the growth and success of the business groupA specific focus for this role is to drives the reduction of material waste across the business. The primary responsibility is to design, implement, and oversee comprehensive waste reduction programs while leading the development of Power BI material waste measurement applications. The role requires a collaborative leader who can drive a culture of waste reduction across the region, foster cross-functional collaboration, and deliver impactful results that align with the group\'s sustainability and operational efficiency objectives.Principal Accountabilities

  • Reporting and Analysis
o Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), operational metrics, and business trends specific to the Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific Operations.
o Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for operational improvement.
o Present findings and insights to leadership and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, facilitating informed decision-making.
o Leading report automation through Power BI development initiatives and standardizing data collection systems.
o Conduct training workshops for shop floor and senior management teams on new PBI & related developments.
o Data structure owner for shop floor operations productivity and waste data recording systems.
o Primary contact for operations, quality, supply chain performance tracking and reporting to leadership.
  • Operational Efficiency:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process optimization, cost reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency within AFAP Operations.
o Utilize data-driven insights to propose, implement, and monitor process improvements that lead to increased productivity and streamlined operations.
o Actively supporting material waste reduction initiative through data analytics and waste report standardization.
  • Business Planning:
o Support the development and coordination of Operations Budgets and Strategic plans.
  • Continuous Improvement:
o Champion a culture of continuous improvement within the business unit by actively participating in process improvement initiatives and providing expertise in operational excellence practices.
o Supporting continuous improvement projects modelling, business cases, project tracking and project management.
o Actively help in decision making by benchmarking, providing insights, and discovering improvement opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including operations, finance, sales, and supply chain teams, to gather requirements, understand business needs, and ensure alignment on operational strategies.
o Work intensively with IT team & own system configuration changes affecting shop floor recording.
  • Waste Reduction Strategy:
o Develop and execute a waste reduction strategy across the Asia Pacific Business Group, aligning with overall business objectives and sustainability targets.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, quality assurance, and sustainability, to drive waste reduction initiatives that span multiple functions and processes.
o Foster a culture of collaboration and engagement to achieve waste reduction goals.
o Implement waste reduction programs, initiatives, and best practices within each business unit, monitoring progress and providing guidance to ensure successful execution.
o Identify barriers and challenges to waste reduction and work collaboratively to overcome them.
o Establish performance metrics and targets for waste reduction efforts, tracking and analyzing results to identify opportunities for further improvement.
o Implement corrective actions as needed to ensure alignment with waste reduction objectives.Qualifications/Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Finance or similar
  • Post graduate qualifications in Supply Chain, Cost Accounting or similar preferred.
  • 5-10 years\' experience and exposure to the commercial as well as the operational business environment
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodology is desirable
  • Strong command of English Language and ability to communicate fluently with different nationalities and cultures
Job Specific Skills and Abilities
  • Spreadsheet modelling and PowerPoint - advanced level
  • SharePoint Administration
  • Experience in Power BI / Business Intelligence system development
  • Financial modelling and analysis
  • High level of numeracy and accuracy is required
  • Ability to interact, communicate, present complex models and data clearly and simply
