Job Summary

We are looking for a diligent individual to oversee Safety compliance, conducting inspections, providing training, and ensuring adherence to safety guidelines. Your role involves driving safety initiatives, PTW, conducting drills, and promoting a culture of safety, playing a crucial part in maintaining a safe working environment and preventing accidents or incidents.



Roles & Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for conducting physical verification, certification and release of all permits as per Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) norms.
• You will provide safety training to contractors, employees, ERT members and others as per safety training calendar.
• You will be responsible for coordinating on the shop floor for driving the DREAMS - ZERO HARM initiative.
• You will be responsible for inspection of all equipment, tools and tackles as per equipment safety check list or safety Audit checklist.
• You will track first aid incident through OHC/Ambulance register and monitor antidotes and oxygen cylinder stock.
• Your role involves identifying unsafe conditions and acts and coordinating their correction, regular Site Inspection, conducting Mock Drills periodically, and maintenance of Safety and Fire protection equipment.
• You will be responsible for conducting safety awareness programs, trainings, fire drill and mock drill, participating in internal safety meetings, and organizing Safety Campaigns as per requirement.
• You will be responsible for ensuring all permit-to-work systems shall be followed as per standards and procedures.
• Your role also extends to following the shift activities and carrying out the activities as per the safety head directions.
• Compliance - Permit to Work System:
• Issuance of work permits and its compliance & Review of Job Safety Analysis

Incident and Risk Reduction:

Conduct safety trainings (Tool Box/ PEP talks) to employees and contractors on need basis.


CAPA's execution sustainability practices monitoring on Powder Processing equipment's (MIE <10mJ)


Shop floor Safety Training & monitoring on Operator awareness at specific operations (eg. MIE values, CAPAs, operational safety, HHP's, etc.,)

Monitoring & Compliance -Static Electricity:


Conduct Static Electricity Audits & track closure of recommendations from the Audit.


Periodic conductivity inspections of all the wheels, conductive mats, filter bags, poly bags, scrappers, scoops etc.


Conduct Static charge measurement for all the powder processing activities before, during and immediately after the operations once in a quarter and track the closure of gaps

Monitoring & Compliance -Fire & Explosion:


Conduct Fire & Explosion Checklists at respective blocks & track the closure of recommendations


Fire hydrant system, Fire extinguishers and all emergency gears checking and verification of its logs.

Monitoring Critical reactions:


To monitor the Critical reactions/ High Hazard Processes in shifts w.r.to safety.

Monitoring & Compliance - General Safety & Equipment Safety:


Daily TBTs, Incident learning sharing at LDMs


PPE availability, usage and its compliance in the site.


N2 blanketing for all centrifuges


Checking of provided machine safety interlocks working condition.


Zero access guarding for all rotating parts & Area equipment specific inspections.

Qualifications Educational qualification : A B.Tech. or B.Sc. (Chemistry); Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred



Minimum work experience : 4 years



Skills & attributes:



Technical Skills

• Experience in certification, and release of permits in compliance with SHE norms, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
• Experience in conducting safety training sessions for contractor employees, emergency squads, and other personnel according to the safety training calendar, covering topics such as hazard awareness, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
• Ability to inspect all equipment, tools, and tackles using safety checklists or audit checklists to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify potential hazards or defects.




Behavioural skills

• Effective communication skills to convey safety procedures, coordinate correction of unsafe conditions or acts, and organize safety awareness programs, campaigns, and meetings.
• Ability to identify unsafe conditions or acts, coordinate corrective actions, and advise on CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) closures to mitigate safety risks and improve workplace safety.
• Leadership qualities to drive safety initiatives, conduct site inspections, and organize safety campaigns, demonstrating a commitment to safety culture and fostering a safe working environment.
• Attention to detail in managing safety and fire protection equipment, conducting thorough equipment inspections, and ensuring compliance with permit-to-work systems and safety standards.
