The Offset Printing Press Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an offset printing press, ensuring high-quality production, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves supervising press operators, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting printing issues, and coordinating production schedules to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
Supervise and coordinate the operations of offset printing presses.
Ensure print jobs are completed on time and meet quality standards.
Monitor workflow and adjust production schedules as needed.
Quality Control:
Inspect printed materials for color accuracy, registration, and defects.
Implement quality control procedures to minimize errors and waste.
Train staff on best practices for maintaining print quality.
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Oversee routine maintenance and servicing of printing presses.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical issues.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs.
Team Management:
Supervise and train press operators and other print shop staff.
Assign tasks and ensure efficient use of resources.
Enforce safety regulations and operational guidelines.
Inventory & Supplies Management:
Monitor and manage ink, paper, and other printing supplies.
Order materials as needed to prevent production delays.
Maintain records of usage and waste reduction strategies.
Process Improvement:
Implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Stay updated on advancements in offset printing technology.
Recommend upgrades and process enhancements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in operating and supervising offset printing presses.
Strong understanding of color management and printing techniques.
Knowledge of press maintenance and troubleshooting.
Leadership and team management skills.
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with safety protocols and industry standards.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in offset printing operations, with supervisory experience preferred.
