Experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Project implementation projects using OBIEE 12c. Experience in Oracle BI Applications Implementation - Finance, Supply Chain and Order Management, Manufacturing, Project Analytics Experience in Data Modelling , Data Analysis, Data Warehousing - Star schema (Facts and Dimensions), Snowflake schema, Dimension hierarchies, Aggregated table, and measures RPD Development: Creating or modifying the RPD file using the Oracle BI Administration Tool. Defining logical models, physical data source connections, joins, calculations, hierarchies, security, and other metadata elements. Data Modelling: Designing and configuring the logical data model in the RPD. Creating logical tables, columns, hierarchies, and defining relationships between them. Implementing business rules and calculations. Physical Data Source Configuration: Configuring the physical data sources in the RPD, such as databases, data warehouses, or other data repositories. Defining connections, specifying database credentials, and configuring connectivity options. Security Configuration: Setting up security permissions and access controls within the RPD. This involves defining user roles, groups, and privileges, as well as implementing data-level security to restrict access to specific data based on user roles. Metadata Management: Managing the overall metadata repository, including metadata consistency, versioning, and ensuring that the RPD aligns with the business requirements and data source changes. RPD Deployment: Deploying the RPD to the OBIEE server or servers for it to be available for report development and analysis. This may involve uploading the RPD file, restarting the OBIEE services, and ensuring proper integration with other components. RPD Optimization: Optimizing the RPD for performance and query efficiency. This includes tuning database queries, optimizing physical joins, aggregations, and caching settings to improve the overall performance of the BI system. RPD Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance tasks on the RPD, such as managing connections, resolving metadata conflicts, updating data sources, and addressing any issues or errors encountered in the metadata definitions. Experienced in working with Variable Manager to define session and repository variables and initialization blocks to streamline administrative tasks and modify metadata dynamically. Report Requirements Gathering: Collaborating with business users and stakeholders to gather report requirements, understand the data needed, and determine the desired report layout and functionality. Report Design: Designing the structure and layout of reports based on the gathered requirements. This includes selecting appropriate visualization types, defining report prompts and filters, and organizing the report elements. Report Development: Developing reports using the OBIEE report development interface. This involves creating analysis or dashboard pages, adding report components (tables, charts, pivot tables, etc.), and configuring properties such as data sources, calculations, and formatting. Data Modelling and SQL Queries: Understanding the underlying data model in the OBIEE RPD and writing SQL queries or using the graphical query builder to retrieve data from the appropriate tables and columns. Report Testing and Debugging: Conducting thorough testing of reports to ensure accuracy and functionality. This includes verifying data results, validating calculations, testing different scenarios, and troubleshooting any issues or errors encountered. Report Performance Optimization: Identifying and implementing performance optimization techniques to enhance report query response time and overall system performance. This may involve optimizing SQL queries, applying appropriate caching strategies, and leveraging aggregate tables or materialized views. Report Publishing and Delivery (iBOTS): Publishing reports to the OBIEE server or appropriate folders for user access. Configuring report access permissions, scheduling report deliveries, and setting up subscriptions or alerts for automated report distribution. Report Maintenance and Support: Providing ongoing maintenance and support for deployed reports. This includes addressing user inquiries or issues, updating reports as per changing requirements, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Report Documentation: Documenting report specifications, data sources, report logic, and any customizations made during the development process. This documentation serves as a reference for future updates or troubleshooting. Report Performance Monitoring: Monitoring report usage and performance to identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement. Analysing usage patterns, query response times, and user feedback to optimize reports and enhance the user experience. SQL: Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, subqueries, joins, and aggregate functions. PL/SQL: Extensive experience in developing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages. Database Management: Strong knowledge of Oracle Database management, performance tuning, and optimization techniques. ETL: Familiarity with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and tools like Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Informatica . Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues.
