Roles and Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.

- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud.

- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and budgets for management and stakeholders.

- Conduct regular financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.

- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and drive business growth.

- Work closely with the VP-Finance to develop financial forecasts, budget plans, and strategic financial initiatives.

- Ensuring that the company complies with all applicable tax laws and regulations such as Income Tax, GST etc.

- Developing and implementing tax planning strategies to optimize the organization\'s tax position

- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the financial landscape.

- Ensure effective handling and resolution of notices served by government authorities in a timely manner, ensuring compliance and closure.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Build and supervise a team of finance personnel, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

- Implement accounting systems and processes to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency.

- Coordinate and produce all tax documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

- Lead annual & Internal audits, ensuring a smooth and timely audit process with external auditors.

- Control the master data of the general register to ensure accuracy and consistency.

- Review and release online banking payments accurately and in a timely manner.

- Provide ongoing accounting and reporting support to cross-functional teams, addressing queries and offering financial insights.

- Maintain the speed and accuracy of billings and client payments, resolving any issues promptly.

- Monitor transactions regularly, identifying and addressing discrepancies or irregularities.

- Continuously seek opportunities to improve process efficiency through the implementation of necessary tools, technologies, and automation.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- NxtWave is looking for candidates with the following skills, qualifications and experience:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant.

- 3-5 years of proven experience in financial management, preferably in a Finance and Tax Controller or similar role.

- Strong knowledge and experience with financial management systems, including expertise in Netsuite ERP.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights and supporting decision-making.

- Proficient in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting processes.

- Thorough understanding of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit coordination.

- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to provide strategic recommendations.

- Experience in the edtech or startup industry is a plus

- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the financial landscape.

- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
