Job Summary:
The Nursing Faculty member is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing education to undergraduate students. This role includes designing and delivering curriculum, conducting practical training, and providing mentorship to ensure students excel academically and professionally. The faculty member will also participate in research, student assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the high standards of the nursing program.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching and Curriculum Development:
Prepare and deliver lectures, practicals, and tutorials as per the B.Sc. Nursing curriculum.
Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessments.
Utilize innovative teaching methods to engage students and facilitate effective learning.
2. Clinical Training and Supervision:
Coordinate and supervise clinical practice in hospitals or healthcare settings.
Guide students in the application of theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
Ensure students comply with safety and professional standards during clinical placements.
3. Student Assessment and Evaluation:
Assess and evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, and practical assessments.
Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
4. Mentoring and Counselling:
Provide academic and career guidance to nursing students.
Offer support and counseling to students facing academic or personal challenges.
5. Research and Professional Development:
Engage in nursing research and publish findings in academic journals.
Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay updated with advancements in the nursing field.
Participate in the institution's professional development programs.
6. Administration and Departmental Support:
Assist in the preparation and revision of academic timetables, course outlines, and teaching materials.
Participate in faculty meetings, committees, Inspection involvement and accreditation processes.
Ensure compliance with the regulatory and accreditation requirements of the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
7. Collaboration:
Work closely with other faculty members and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic learning experiences.
Establish strong relationships with healthcare facilities for student clinical placements.
Qualifications:
Education: B.Sc. Nursing (mandatory), M.Sc. Nursing (preferred) from a recognized institution.
Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of teaching or clinical experience in a reputed institution or hospital.
Certification: Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Indian Nursing Council.
Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
Proficient in the use of technology and online teaching platforms.
