Job Title : Nursing Assistant (Emergency)

Reports To : Nurse-in-Charge, Emergency Department

Job Summary

Himalaya Medical College and Hospital, Chiksi, Paliganj, Patna, is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Nursing Assistant for our Emergency Department . The ideal candidate will assist nurses and medical staff in providing prompt and efficient care to emergency patients, ensuring high standards of hygiene, comfort, and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care
• Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Provide personal hygiene care, including bathing, feeding, and toileting as needed.
• Monitor and report vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure) accurately and promptly.
• Assisting Medical Procedures
• Support doctors and nurses during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, dressings, and other supplies.
• Assist in managing emergency equipment and maintaining a clean, well-organized emergency room.
• Communication and Documentation
• Maintain clear communication with patients, family members, and the medical team.
• Document patient information and report any changes in condition to the nursing team.
• Record all care activities and maintain accurate patient records.
• Emergency Response
• Act promptly in emergency situations, such as assisting in resuscitation procedures.
• Support the safe and quick transportation of patients within the hospital when needed.
• Environment Maintenance
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the emergency area, ensuring that infection control protocols are followed.
• Ensure that supplies and equipment are readily available and functional at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Requirements : Degree/ Diploma in Nursing or similar field from a recognized institution.
• Experience : At least 3 years of experience working in a hospital or emergency setting is preferred.
• Skills :
• Basic understanding of patient care and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond swiftly in critical situations.
• Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach towards patients.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical Requirements : Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving, and assisting patients.

Working Hours

• Shift-Based : The role involves rotating shifts, including night and weekend shifts, as the emergency department operates 24/7.
