Job Summary:
The New Product Development (NPD) Engineer in the Foundry Division will be responsible for leading the development and introduction of new products from concept through production. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that new products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Project Management:
• Lead and manage NPD projects from concept to production.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, production, quality, and supply chain.
2.Design and Development:
• Work with design engineers to create new product designs that meet customer requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Utilize CAD software to develop and review product designs.
3.Prototyping and Testing:
• Oversee the creation of prototypes and conduct testing to validate design and performance.
• Analyze test data and make recommendations for improvements.
4. Process Development:
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new products.
• Ensure that processes are cost-effective, efficient, and meet quality standards.
5.Quality Assurance:
• Work with the quality team to develop inspection and testing protocols.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
6. Supplier Coordination:
• Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and components.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and performance.
7.Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of design changes, test results, and project progress.
• Prepare and present project reports to management.
8.Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process and product improvements.
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance product development.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Experience:
• 5-9 years of experience in product development within the foundry industry.
• Proven experience in managing NPD projects from concept to production.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of foundry processes, materials, and metallurgy.
• Knowledge of industry standards and quality systems (e.g., ISO, ASTM).
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Work Environment:
• This position may require exposure to foundry environments, including noise, heat, and dust.
• Occasional travel to supplier sites or customer locations may be required.
