We are expanding our team and are looking for dedicated Local News Reporters at the district, tehsil, and block levels across Bihar.
As a local reporter, you will be responsible for covering news that impacts your community, from local events and government actions to public concerns and human interest stories.
This is a unique opportunity to represent your area in the media and ensure local issues are highlighted and addressed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Report on local news and events happening in your district, tehsil, or block
• Develop contacts within the community to stay informed on important issues
• Conduct interviews with local figures, officials, and residents to gather diverse perspectives
• Write and submit news reports and articles for the daily newspaper and social media
• Capture photos and videos to accompany news stories, when necessary
• Work closely with editors and the central newsroom to ensure consistent quality of coverage
• Stay on top of current events and breaking news in your region
Qualifications:
• Interest in journalism, with a passion for local news and community stories
• Good communication skills, both written and spoken
• Strong networking and research abilities to gather information from various sources
• Experience in reporting, journalism, or writing is a plus, but freshers with potential are encouraged to apply
• Familiarity with social media platforms for sharing news (experience in digital reporting is a plus)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Residing in or willing to cover specific districts, tehsils, or blocks within Bihar
