Job Description


:POSITION SUMMARYThe New Product Development Engineer will participate in the new product development process and provide technical support on the Vertiv solutions. This position will use the design for service principles to ensure that safety, serviceability, and service business goals are met. The position will collaborate with global technical leads to ensure consistency in execution and service readiness for the new products portfolio. The position will provide technical guidance in development of service offering and execution of warranty for third party components.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface with R&D Engineering, Regional Offering, and product management to implement the Global Serviceability Specification on new products.
  • Coordinate with the manufacturing centers to ensure timely information exchange of all products, i.e. ECN, SFA.
  • Provide technical guidance to Marketing in development of Scope of Work documents, and new services.
  • Provide technical expertise in development of service plans for new products.
  • Represent Vertiv Services at design reviews, product reviews, and phase gate reviews.
  • Assist in the design and testing of new IMS products a service perspective.
  • Develop source material for field service manual.
  • Attend equipment startups and collect and evaluate the finished product for future improvements.
  • Track initial startups and provide feedback to engineering and product management.
  • Assist with development of service execution procedures.
  • Provide support to Logistics for parts research, spare kits, and parts sourcing.
  • Review ECN and develop Service Tips, Field Change Notices, and Safety Bulletins.
  • Lead documentation and TKO development for new products.
  • Provide Domestic and International Technical Assistance.
  • Document new tooling or test equipment requirements.
  • Collaborate with the training team for Technical Support and Customer Engineers first classes on new products.
  • Provide on-site Technical Assistance as required.
  • Develop startup and Preventive Maintenance forms for new products.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of three years of field service or two years\' experience as a Technical Support Consultant.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present material to Executive Management.
  • Possess a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Proficient PC skills including all Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of four years engineering degree ( Mechanical / Electrical/ Electronics) from an accredited educational institution or equivalent training and experience.
