The work involves doing research, analyzing the current setup, understanding what the new setup needs to be to meet business requirements, understanding the network products to fulfill this and producing documentation of the network configurations as well as raising change controls and taking these approved changes and implementing them on the production network without interrupting services.Key Responsibilities:\xef\x82\xb7 Work with the business to understand the applications and their network requirements.\xef\x82\xb7 Produce a full network design document with detailed network configurations.\xef\x82\xb7 Using the design document produced, create Build Packages which will include implementation plans, test plans and change controls.\xef\x82\xb7 Oversee the deployment of hardware and configuration on the corporate data network. Implementing changes occurs out of business hours during the week and primarily on weekends.\xef\x82\xb7 Communicate effectively with the Project Managers, local business representatives and stakeholders providing timely updates to ensure successful delivery of the projects.\xef\x82\xb7 Ensure that all project management systems are updated to reflect project status and current forecasted time to deliver the solution.\xef\x82\xb7 Ensure that the solution is fit for purpose, meets the business objectives and follows the companies processes and standards.\xef\x82\xb7 The network engineer will manage a number of projects all at different stages of the project lifecycle.Knowledge -Delivered network designs and implemented solutions using Cisco products.Expert understanding of Cisco network router & switching technologies.Excellent knowledge of typical investment/retail banking environments or equivalent (major ISP, systems integrator, or global enterprise).Three years for experienceSkillsStrong working knowledge of at least three of the following routing protocols: EIGRP, IGRP, BGP, OSPF, RIP.Good knowledge of Data Center network, LAN and WAN solutionsStrong working knowledge of IP, IPSEC, NAT, VPN, VXLANs, B2B connectivity.Experience of using Multicast in a Cisco environment.Competencies- Strong problem solving skills - Very good client facing skills- Excellent communication skills (including listening)- First rate analytical skills - A team player- An enthusiastic can do approach- A positive and pro-active attitude- A history of delivering against agreed objectives- Willingness to learn
