Designation: Network Consultant II
Job Profile: Network & Security Administration Tier 2 Engineer
Experience: Min 6 to Max 8 years
Job location: Bangalore
Work Timing: This job involves 24/7 rotational shift
Essential skills:
In-dept understanding of large enterprise network layouts.
Hands-on experience working on Juniper, Fortinet firewalls, Routing and Switching, ITIL process knowledge, TCP/IP
NAT, Firewall policies, IDS/IPS
Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
Desirable Skills:
Basic Linux server administration experience
Routing protocols like BGP and OSPF, Cisco ASA, F5, VPN, and SSL Certificates
Any programming/ scripting language will be added advantage
Job description:
Document the required server and network changes via "Tech Docs", Method of Procedures ("MOPs") and Change Requests ("CRQs" or "Changes")
Validate existing live device configuration against Tech Docs.
Represent proposed server and network Changes in regular meetings and ad-hoc conference calls with relevant technical teams
Work with Client Service Management to schedule and agree change windows
Work with Client Subject Matter Experts to agree and schedule required changes
Provide logical configuration changes required to ready the environments for re-IP migrations
Implement approved changes within the agreed change windows following all Lumen and
Customer policies and procedures - Engineers will be required to work during weekends
Roll back Changes which are not accepted.
Participate in Handover to Support and gain Operational acceptance: Transition the environments to support, validate and prepare handover documents, schedule and hold handover meetings
Provide input into the Project Manager's weekly project reports
Education and certification:
Bachelor degree in IT/ Computer Science or any related field
Any certificates from Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc. will be an added advantage
