To support the rapidly growing user community and the introduction of new and innovative products and services, Meta is continually expanding its network infrastructure around the globe. We are looking for a Network Implementation Engineer (Formerly Known As Fibre Delivery Engineer) to join our Network Infrastructure team in Asia Pacific (APAC) to drive key milestones for critical backbone infrastructure with a focus on our network in India. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will help set the technical requirements and ensure the on-time/in-spec delivery during the execution of the program. You will support Network Development Managers in the development and implementation of strategies to provide Meta with best-in-class economics and optimal flexibility/scalability. In addition, you will be responsible for reviewing the progress and performance of the fiber delivery and completing the validation and acceptance according to the required criteria.Network Implementation Engineer ResponsibilitiesBuild and manage a portfolio of fiber infrastructure suppliers to ensure transparency with project management and information flowManage fiber acceptance testing and validation for performance characteristicsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to manage metric-driven supplier quarterly business reviews to evaluate in-life performance and opportunities for improvementReport on key metrics for infrastructure projects: On-time performance, Vendor performance, Monthly and yearly activated services and financial performanceCollaborate with Network Development Managers and ensure key technical requirements are included during the pre-contract forming phaseKeep abreast of technological developments in the telecom wholesale market and position Meta in the right place.Collaborate across cross-functional teams to synchronize fiber deployment schedule with fiber acceptanceWork with data located in different systems, correlate data and build datasets to be used across different tools/systemsIdentify internal system workflow improvements to define the requirements for development improvementsTravel up to 25% of the timeMinimum QualificationsBA, BSc, BEng or equivalent in technical or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience in network deployment fiber projectsExperience in terrestrial fiber network design and technologyCertification or a proven track record in project management techniques and tools (e.g. Project Management Professional)Demonstrated understanding of fiber specs, interpretation of Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry (OTDR) traces, and fiber handover packagesExperience engaging vendors on aspects of network design, planning and construction, particularly in IndiaExperience in relationship building and collaboration within a cross-functional teamFamiliarity working with data in different tools and capacity to structure/clean data and create correlationsCapacity and willingness to travel up to 25% of the timePreferred QualificationsExperience in using scripts (Python, SQL), networking related software, frameworks, and APIsExperience with long haul and metro networksDemonstrates proven track record of major deal delivery (at multiple fiber pair scale) and familiarity with permitting and regulatory environment across the APAC regionUnderstanding of subsea systems and associated fiber technologiesCommunicate in 1 or more regional business languages as the role requires communication with partners in local languagesAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
