Why this job mattersGlobal Network Delivery is accountable for the build and configuration of BT\'s global network infrastructure across c.200 sites. The team is responsible for providing and configuring the core infrastructure to support service provision across a number of platforms, including Global MPLS, Global Internet Access, Transmission and Voice. Global Network Delivery are also integral to launching new technology into the Global Network, including global Dynamic Network Services (DyNS) and Cloud infrastructure. The team are also responsible for network rationalisation including customer migrations and forced site closures.The Network Delivery Manager role is Leading a large multi-tiered team of professional and technical experts to deliver the complex network change, integration, test, and customer migration activities required on the flagship Global IP platform with a high level of technical complexity, diversity and variety of problem solving. There is a high level of autonomy and flexibility in how the working day is organised due to the global nature of the team and therefore working across multiple time zones. This role also involves managing 3rd party suppliers, ensuring that all costs are reasonable and kept to a minimum whilst supporting on time delivery along with adhering to BT\'s quality standardsWhat you\'ll be doing

  • Ensuring the scope of delivery is understood, that the technical solution meets the business need and that plans are comprehensive and are achieved.
  • Ensuring that all impacted teams understand the delivery plans
  • Delivering quality assurance of team output.
  • Managing resource management and work prioritisation.
  • Make /implement recommendations for improvements to processes and support the Transformation of how we work with automation
  • Engaging with clients and suppliers including internal stakeholders (regular stakeholder comms) and supporting the team with the engagement.
  • Ensuring that platforms/components have sufficient capacity to meet delivery commitments
  • Risk Management for technical deliveries
  • In life technical deliveries
  • Engagement as required to bring parties together to clarify and resolve issues with requirements, designs, & priorities
  • Forecast supply and demand of resource requirements based on known business need.
  • Continuously review work stack and prioritise with associated resource management.
  • Own the technical delivery of project/number of projects from business scoping. The technical delivery will be complex and of small to medium size.
  • Manage any issues identified post deployment and escalate as appropriate
  • Identify prerequisites to technical deliveries and ensure that they are delivered
  • Identify when technical deliveries are at risk and take corrective action to resolve
  • Engagement with appropriate teams on delivery progress
  • Accountable for their team meeting On Time Delivery (OTD) and Right First Time (RFT) targets for all build activities, serving as an escalation point for WL1-2 managers
  • Accountable for ensuring all deliveries adhere to BT\'s quality standards
  • Accountable for unit wide organisational health, team recruitment, engagement and training
  • Accountable to produce reporting that provides key insights into service improvement areas.
  • Accountable for the execution of complex and evolving delivery plans in their area, making sensible, commercial decisions which will support service performance and mitigate risk.

Experience you would be expected to have
