Network Engineer L1, Network and Security Operations

Synopsys is looking for a L1 Network Engineer to join our Network and Security Operations team. This team is responsible for maintaining, and supporting a large global network consisting of 100+ office locations and 50 data centers.

As a member of this team, you will have a direct impact on operational activities to keep our environment running smoothly. You will work closely with the India & US team to ensure network and security of our company are safe and efficient by proactively monitoring performance, vulnerabilities, coordinating planned maintenance, and responding to any incidents to keep our engineers productive.

Responsibilities

• Ensure our network and security infrastructure is free of vulnerabilities by patching OS's and hardening Network devices by following configuration templates
• Perform fault isolation and trouble resolution on network & security hardware, software, and circuits
• Participate in on call activities and follow escalation process to support the infrastructure 24/7
• Proactively contribute to documentation, automation, and process improvement
• Participate in our trouble ticketing system ensuring our global employee base is running at optimal efficiency
• Responsible for taking handover from project team for the completed projects and thereon provide operational support


Key Qualifications

• BA/BS in a technical field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of network and security administration experience, supporting medium and large enterprise environments
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Cisco IOS/NX-OS general knowledge
• Palo Alto Firewall general knowledge
• Aruba Wireless and network general knowledge


Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA certification
• Ansible or python type scripting and programming skills
• Prior experience automating workflow and processes
• Willing to work 24/7 shift work hours
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving abilities
