Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Naval Architect for our Stability department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing conceptual and basic design calculations related to vessel stability, hydrostatics, and structural integrity. This role demands expertise in stability analysis, feasibility assessments, and adherence to industry and class standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct conceptual & basic design calculations covering vessel weight, stability, and hydrostatics.
Perform stability analysis for various scenarios, including crane operations and other specific vessel activities.
Create hull and tank models for vessels, ensuring accurate stability performance.
Execute final intact stability calculations in compliance with class rules and maritime standards.
Carry out preliminary damage stability calculations , evaluating vessel resilience in different conditions.
Provide lightship weight estimations for vessel modifications, such as BWTS and scrubber installations.
Perform and document inclining experiments and lightship surveys , including report preparation.
Calculate stability , ensuring accuracy for operational conditions.
Assess stability for anchor handling operations .
Carry out final damage stability calculations using both deterministic and probabilistic methods.
Estimate and analyse lightship weight distribution for vessel operations.
Check longitudinal strength of vessels to ensure structural integrity.
Perform EEXI and EEDI calculations to assess energy efficiency for ships.
Conduct scantling calculations as part of structural design and compliance checks.
Skills and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in stability analysis and familiarity with software tools for hydrostatics and stability assessments.
Experience with class regulations and industry standards related to vessel design and stability.
Strong analytical skills, particularly in conducting lightship weight estimations , damage stability analysis, and strength assessments.
Preferred Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in naval architecture with a focus on stability.
