What will you do as a National Sales Manager?

Reporting to the Regional Development Manager (RDM), the National Sales Manager will be responsible for increasing growth in the assigned sales area by working closely with a dedicated team of sales professionals to continuously improve both distributor and partner performance as well as direct accounts while growing new accounts with system integrators, OEMs, and end users. Supported by customer service and application engineering and the RDM, the Business Manager will meet or exceed annual sales growth targets established by the RDM and executive management.

  • Build and develop a team of exceptional sales talent in the area to ensure the financial targets are achieved, LMI\xe2\x80\x99s sales strategy is well executed and each member of the team is held accountable with clearly defined expectations
  • Mentor and develop each member of the area sales team so they are able to achieve their goals professionally and personally
  • Create a culture and work environment where the team members continuously strengthen, work cohesively together and genuinely enjoy what they do
  • Provide the sales team with the necessary tools to effectively and efficiently carry out their activities
  • Ensure proper and active use of the companies CRM system as outlined in the LMI sales process document
  • Provide direction to the sales team regarding special pricing deals for selected customers.
  • Create, maintain and execute a strategic plan on how to develop and grow sales in the area that ties in with the corporate growth objectives
  • Execute on strategic corporate initiatives that impact the area
  • Oversee the distributor performance in the area, achievement of sales expectations, delivery of strong opportunity pipelines and support the expected sales performance providing pricing recommendations when required
  • Manage and drive the sales team for the area to exceed their individual and group targets, ensuring there is an adequate opportunity pipeline to support future sales expectations
  • Manage select key accounts that are best serviced at ASM (Area Sales Manager) level
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Have an in-depth working knowledge of all of LMI\xe2\x80\x99s markets and applications, especially key markets within the area
  • Provide product/application recommendations to new and existing clients.
  • Upgrade and maintain knowledge of the LMI product line
  • Establish relationships with professional associations, strategic business partners and business networks to promote the awareness of LMI and its product lines
  • Evaluate current trends, competitive activity, economic factors and changes in the area to translate this knowledge into definitive and actionable plans to build profitable growth
  • Provide area sales budgeting information on a quarterly and yearly basis
  • Perform all human resource functions with your team; such as hiring, promotions, disciplinary action and performance reviews
  • Present papers, product demonstrations or sales training in front of varying sized audiences
  • Travel as required to industry events, customer sites and LMI management meetings
  • Interact with marketing to coordinate trade shows and other marketing initiatives that are required in the area
  • Work on an ongoing basis with the RDM for sales growth and marketing initiatives in the area
  • Work on an ongoing basis with Product Management and R&D to bring new products to market or find opportunities for new technology created by LMI in the area
  • Coordinate hiring and financial activities that are specific to the area under their management
  • Coordinate with the Applications group to provide technical support of major production lines which utilize LMI products as needed
What do you need to be successful?
  • Engineering or Commerce Degree or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years professional sales experience working with OEM, SI or Distributors.\xe2\x80\x8b Preference is given to those candidates with a technical background or relevant work experience
  • A proven track record of creating and developing a team of high performing sales individuals
  • Proven skills in developing strategic plans for sales growth and evidence of successful execution of these plans
  • Working knowledge of 3D machine vision and related products
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills combined with strong computer skills
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and prioritization skills
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and results oriented approach to business
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
