Nacelle Module in Vestas Technology and operations is responsible for developing the complete Vestas nacelle program both onshore and offshore. The team consist of experienced design engineers, highly skilled FEA designers, project managers, technical module leads, yaw engineers, cover engineers and cooling & conditioning designers. Besides design of nacelle structure and nacelle enclosure, the nacelle module is responsible for all component integration within the nacelles with focus on HSE and optimization towards the full value chain.


Nacelle Technical Management is a cross functional sub-department of Nacelle Module. The department is accountable for final approval of module requirements, design solutions, technical quality, risks and solutions that are developed in the Nacelle sub-modules. The team will deliver feasibility studies and the initial scoping of Nacelle projects as well as ensuring cross-functional and full value chain alignment.


The Nacelle module team is in three different hubs: at Aarhus in Denmark, Porto in Portugal and in Chennai, India.




Responsibilities
• L1: Modules/main assemblies below product level or those containing L1 critical interfaces
• L2: Modules/main assemblies below main assembly level or those containing L2 critical interfaces
• Align, define, manage, and verify geometrical and DfX requirements such as interfaces with adjacent modules, assemblies, and components at levels above and below L1 and L2 (if design is changed)
• Define and verify strategies for modularization and reuse of standard components with relevant design and functional owners
• Ensure DfX analysis is in place (if design is changed)
• Conduct HSE risk analysis, reports, and simulations on personal safety (if design is changed)
• Ensure design documentation such as 3D models, 2D drawings, MBD models, and schematics at the L1 or L2 level
• Utilize Windchill and Creo functionalities to achieve an efficient Overloaded & Configurable BoM
• Implement new product structure methods, considering upstream and downstream needs/constraints, with support from the Dynamic (e)BoM, (m)BoM, and configuration team in Digital Solutions
• Execute and deliver the ECM process (Engineering Change Management)
• Implement solutions supporting Vestas' data model and BoM management
• Ensure product structure updates adhere to existing guidelines and best practices
• Consolidate and maintain overall Nacelle cost overview including the Value chain cost




Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering
• Minimum of 15 years of work experience (e.g., Wind Energy, Automotive and Aerospace preferred)
• Extensive experience in Mechanical and Electrical design and engineering
• Proficiency in PLM software, particularly Windchill
• Good experience with BOM management
• Proficiency in Parametric Design using CAD software, especially Creo Parametric
• Familiarity with product structure & architecture tools
• Experience with modular product development




Competencies
• Understanding of ERP software, especially SAP
• Comprehensive understanding of ECM (Engineering Change Management)
• Knowledge of part and material Master Data to support BOM development
• Experience in Product Lifecycle Management and digital thread development
• Basic technical understanding of WTG
