• The job holder is responsible for technical delivery of projects by providing technical / process guidance to project teams and be a subject matter expert for the MQ infrastructure team.
• Extensive experience in MQ related Automation.
• Providing consulting on MQ Performance Monitoring, Tuning, Optimization.
• Maintain High Availability setup, replication setups and perform Capacity Planning and DR Planning
• Meet the delivery standards as per the agreement that includes quality of deliverables, documentation.
• Stabilize the MQ environments and demonstrate ownership, commitment, and sense of urgency.
• Draft and maintain standards and procedures for service component capacity management. Ensures the correct implementation of standards and procedures.
• Pro-actively review information in conjunction with service level agreements to identify any capacity issues and specify any required changes. Work with application teams to agree and implement short- and medium-term modifications to demand.
• Asses, analyse, develop, document, and implement changes based on requests for change. Understanding of functional requirements and translation of business requirements into technical specifications
• Provide troubleshooting support in incident and perform root cause analysis to prevent problems happening. Appropriate measures are taken to improve and sustain high quality and prevent recurrence.
• Provide consultancy, guidance and collaborate with other infrastructure, application, support and engineering teams.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Provide technical product oversight on all Middleware Messaging & Integration products. For example, but not limited to, security vulnerability management, implementation standards, automation for installation, configuration and patch management, estate management, technical support, product roadmaps etc.
• Need to have deep technical knowledge across multiple platforms and products at least in IBM MQ, WMB/IIB, WTX/ITX and MQ IPT.
• Able to understand architecture of systems and recommend design and implementation patterns.
• Be able to deliver within timelines and using precise forecasting and planning of work.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on requirement collection and engineering solution rollouts.
• Manage projects using dev ops methodologies as well as traditional approaches.
• Communicate strategy and ensure management, stakeholders and other interested parties are up to date on status.
• Manage project delays and escalations to keep project on track.
• Listen to the internal global community and adapt engineering strategy where possible to accommodate requests.
• Actively work with 3rd party vendors and lab advocates to discuss complex product issues and features.
• Engage in and manage product evaluations.
• Setup automation(s) to take out waste
• Consolidate and reduce infrastructure complexity
• Develop Cloud based infrastructure platforms and deliver infrastructure, platform etc. \xe2\x80\x9cas a Service\xe2\x80\x9d by working with Business & other DevOps teams
• Determine the strategic direction and execute in each of the Technology areas under Enterprise Services responsibility
• Risk and Cost Management
• Ensure Service Quality Targets are met for offered services
• Business stakeholder management to define product roadmaps and market available capabilities
• Write development code, understand a DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline, and build automated test scripts (for infrastructure products and upgrades), and build automation interfaces between systems

• Operational effectiveness \xe2\x80\x93 experience of delivering solutions that align to approved design patterns and security standards.
• Should be well versed with ITIL concepts and more specific understanding of Service operations activities.
• Ability to quickly acquire new skills and tools.

• Able to work independently to meet deadlines and under pressure.
• Passion for technology, work closely with application teams and understanding their application environments and services.
• Experience with other ITID technologies such as Unix, Middleware (WebSphere, Apache HTTP Server & Tomcat, IIS) and Databases (Oracle, Oracle RAC, MS SQL, Sybase & DB2).
• Experience of other technologies is desirable:
• Enterprise Application integration
• Programming in Java/ Java GUI, XML/ XSLT, HTML/ Java Script
• Market Data (RMDS, 29West, Wombat, Solarflare)
• Trading Technologies and ISVs
• End to end agile infrastructure architecture across all layers
