What you\'ll do

As a Mortgage Underwriting Delivery Manager, youll be maintaining a clear understanding of the needs of our customers and stakeholders to deliver the most appropriate and fit for purpose solution when dealing with complex issues. Youll be coaching and developing the team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic and ensuring excellent service to our brokers and applicants. In addition, youll be:

• Overseeing the gathering and maintenance of business critical management information to make sure that assurance and compliance objectives are met
• Providing subject matter knowledge to the team to make sure that policy standards are effectively and accurately embedded across divisions
• Acting as an internal consultant and subject matter expert to enable and inform effective standards, processes and controls
• Supporting the development of the team performance and customer service by role modelling our core service behaviours and standards, and adopting leadership tools and techniques
• Planning and delivering the effective management of key controls and support in the development and maintenance of the business continuity plans

The skills you\'ll need

Were looking for an experienced mortgage underwriter with residential and buy to let underwriting experience. Youll also need experience in UK residential mortgages with thorough knowledge of the end-to-end mortgage lifecycle. Ideally, youll also have underwriting experience. As well as the ability to lead and manage at the required level, youll need specialist mortgage lending knowledge and experience. Youll also need:

• Strong relationship management and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work under own initiative and as a team player
• Knowledge of relevant internal and external regulatory frameworks
• Demonstrable motivation skills that promote performance within the underwriting team
• Collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with key stakeholders
