Mortgage Underwriter

Overview:

Join our team as a Mortgage Underwriter where you will play a crucial role in the mortgage lending process. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating loan applications to ensure they meet the necessary requirements for approval.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze and assess loan applications to determine creditworthiness and adherence to lending guidelines.

- Conduct risk analysis to evaluate potential risks associated with loan applications.

- Utilize quantitative analysis to review financial documents and assess borrower's ability to repay loans.

- Collaborate with various stakeholders including banks, loan processors, and portfolio managers.

- Identify and prevent potential fraud through thorough detection methods.

- Manage loan processing efficiently to ensure timely approvals.

- Perform quantitative research to support decision-making processes.

- Maintain accurate records of all underwriting activities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Law.

- Proven experience in mortgage underwriting for loans in the United States.

- Strong mathematical skills for analyzing financial data.

- Understanding of underwriting guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA)

- Fluent English

- Superb Excel skills

- Ability to work well under pressure

- Familiarity with Loan Operating Systems is a plus (Arive, Encompass, etc)

Experience:

• US mortgage underwriting: 3 years (Preferred)
