We are seeking an exceptional Cyber Principal Engineer to join the Global Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) Engineering team. The ideal candidate will influence the design, implementation, and management of advanced cybersecurity solutions, leading to the protection of our information systems and IT/OT networks. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest security standards.
M&D is a dynamic organization within Gas Power Engineering that provides monitoring services to nearly 1000 power plants globally. The team's mission is to deliver engineering insights to customers at scale by leveraging data and the deep domain expertise within Gas Power. At the foundation of the customer outcomes is a passionate, global group of engineers that develops, maintains, and improves the data path from engine sensor to cloud to desktop app.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Support M&D Cyber and Sustaining team members as an expert in cybersecurity as it relates to OT network architectures and industrial control systems
• Work across Engineering and IT partners to develop strategy and define program requirements to evolve products, applications, infrastructure, and services to close gaps and meet the needs of customers and GEV
• Consult with the M&D Cyber team on development of security policy and standards that guide the organization's processes
• Ensure new and existing risks are holistically assessed with thorough, practical mitigation plans
• Identify gaps in M&D's technical depth on Cyber practices; develop skills building strategy and mentor individuals in technical growth
• Partner with Vernova Cyber teams in conducting passive and active assessments of M&D's product, process, and physical information security
• Define strategy for utilizing advanced tools, such as AI/ML, to increase productivity and security posture
• Exercise Curiosity by striving for improved products & processes to support customers
• Work closely with other controlled title holders across engineering
• Foster a culture of Lean wherein standard work and daily management leads to continuous improvement
• Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters
• Be a Helpful resource to all levels of engineering team and encourage dialogue between all groups
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree of Science in Computer Science or in a "STEM" major (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in developing and deploying cybersecurity practices
Desired Characteristics
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or lead role
• Proven experience in designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions in complex environments
• Expertise in network security, cloud security, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence
• Proficiency with security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanners)
• In-depth knowledge of OT security best practices
• Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 27001, CIS Top 18, ISA/IEC 62443, NIST and CIS benchmarks
• Industry certifications (ISA/IEC 62443, AWS, Azure, CISSP/CISM/CISA)
• Demonstrated capability in leading within a matrixed, global organization
• Customer-focused with clear, concise written and oral communications to the appropriate level
• Servant leadership mindset

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $127,900 - $213,100 USD Annual.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This Senior Professional Band position is also eligible for a variable incentive bonus of 15%.
• The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
