Job Description

We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced MongoDB Database Administrator to manage our MongoDB databases. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, and optimization of MongoDB instances, ensuring the highest levels of database performance, security, and availability.


Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB databases in production and development environments.


Monitor database performance and perform regular health checks to ensure optimal operation.


Implement backup and recovery solutions to safeguard data integrity and availability.


Optimize database queries and indexes to improve performance and efficiency.


Collaborate with development teams to design and implement effective data models.


Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.


Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.


Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies.


Stay current with MongoDB best practices, tools, and new features to continually enhance database performance. Required Skills and Qualifications:


Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


Proven experience as a MongoDB Database Administrator or similar role.


Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets and sharding.


Proficiency in writing and optimizing MongoDB queries.


Experience with database monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.


Knowledge of backup and recovery methods specific to MongoDB.


Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. About Virtusa
