Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesUndertake activities related to the design and development of functional simulation models as part of a project team.Demonstrate the ability to comprehend, create and debug C++ modules that execute the functional requirements for a train system.Interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics as well as functional specifications.Develop expertise of train modelling under the guidance of the Modelling team lead and ensure timely delivery of individual assignments, effective utilization of time on individual assignment and team management, be a mentor, coach, & a friend to other team members, provide improvement ideas and opportunities.Set clear self (in consultation with supervisor) goals and KPIs.Monitor self-performance on productivity, quality, compliance to process & standards is important according to the Engineering KPIs.Support a healthy and motivating work environment and atmosphere, work with the team effectively.Implements business initiatives including prompt corrective action plans for areas with below threshold performance.Ensure efficient and economical performance in accordance with operating budgets, year-end goals and objectives.Manage work assignments, productivity & quality, and process compliance in line with Company goals, processes, and guidelines.Adhere to all policies procedures and work instructions within the discipline of Company Quality expectations.Working in close collaboration with the Team in France and Adelaide and with modelling lead, participate in regular discussions, ensure constant & consistent collaboration, and provide constant updates of the ground situation in Pune.Skills and RequirementsHand on experience in plant modelling using C++.Hands on experience of modelling electro-mechanical systems using C++ is desirable.Preferred - MTech Electronics Engineering, focus on Control systems, Mechatronics.Required - BTech Electronics Engineering, focus on Control systems, Mechatronics.Educational background from IIT or a reputed NIT/University shall be preferred.Experience of working on projects involving Distributed Software Systems design and development will be highly preferable.Understanding of key concepts in control theory; discrete systems, feedback, stability, state spaceUnderstanding of the principles of Newtonian physicsA working understanding of train system functions and operation, including braking, traction, coupling, computer-based control, access/egress systems.Experience analyzing requirements and developing designs that meet requirements. Knowledge of software design principles, including the use of UMLAbility to understand technical manuals and drawings.Problem solving skills.Ability to diagnose and debug software problems.Experience in using dataflow languages such as Matlab/Simulink is desirable.Experience with databases, SQL, data gathering, and CAD skills is desirable.Experience with configuration management and defect tracking tools.Initiative and a willingness to learn
