This is a key role to ensure the responsible design, development, and deployment of AI solutions across the enterprise, working out of one of our global offices in either Bangalore, India or Mexico City, Mexico. The Model Steward is a central role, coordinating and collaborating with Model Steward Partners in the Data and Model Governance (DMG) team as well as their assigned business function, to ensure that our Model Governance policies, standards, and Ethics framework are implemented and monitored effectively within their portfolio of AI/ML models. The Model Steward is an essential part of the Data and Model Stewardship Network and will represent two main interest groups in the end-to-end model lifecycle:
Model Developers, who design, develop, and deploy the AI/ML model(s)
Model Owners, who consume the AI/ML model(s), and embed it in their processes/products
A Model Steward will represent their business function in championing Model Governance and Ethics for a defined portfolio of AI/ML-related projects as we embed our Model Stewardship model and continually improve our governance-related processes across the enterprise. About the Role In this opportunity as a Model Steward, you will:
Participate in the Thomson Reuters Data and Model Stewardship Network, including:
Participation in Model Stewardship Working Groups relevant to your portfolio of models.
Provide SME input to, and feedback on, relevant Model Governance and Ethics policy/standard proposals and business glossary terms.
Provide first line support to model developers and consumers of your portfolio of models including:
Cascade information about new/amended Model Governance and Ethics policies, standards, or operating procedures.
Support Model Steward Partners in training the stakeholders associated with your portfolio of models.
Maintain and ensure high quality of Model Registry entries for your portfolio of models.
Monitor the quality of input data and models within your portfolio against agreed enterprise standards.
Investigate model-related issues arising in or affecting your portfolio of models, engaging with upstream/downstream stakeholders and DMG Model Steward Partners, as required.
Guide model developers and owners through the completion of Model Governance and Ethics-related asks and provide hands-on support, where possible.
Identify ways to effectively embed Model Governance and ethics expectations into existing processes within your assigned business function, including automation opportunities and tooling.
Highlight challenges when applying Model Governance and Ethics expectations to your portfolio of models.
About You You?re a fit for the role of Model Steward if you meet all or most of these criteria:
Experience applying collaborative problem-solving, negotiation, change and stakeholder management skills.
Initial experience working within a model ethics/governance framework. Basic knowledge about the role of Model Governance in an organization.
Process analysis skills, with ability to translate business issues and requirements into actionable plans and communicate those to a broad audience.
Thorough understanding of AI/ML model and systems infrastructures. Subject matter expert for models in the systems within their domain/functional scope.
Technical hands-on skills in exploring, analyzing, profiling, manipulating data sets and initial experience developing machine learning models (e.g., Python, AWS, SQL, ?).
Previous hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring models in production environments.
