Upwork has partnered with a governing organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who oversees the church in directing its various divisions and leadership, as well as doctrinal matters.


They are looking for a skilled and dedicated Christian Translator to join their team for a unique translation project.



• Translate written content, approximately 10,000 words, from English to Mizo language with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
• Ensure that the translated content maintains the intended meaning and conveys Christian terminology appropriately.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of Christian principles, beliefs, and values to accurately convey the spiritual essence of the content.
• Handle materials related to Jesus and Christian teachings with respect and sensitivity, recognizing the diversity of religious perspectives.
• Adapt to specific language nuances, cultural references, and contextual elements to produce translations that resonate with the target audience.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the overall quality of translations and maintain consistency in terminology usage.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English and Mizo languages.
• Strong understanding of Christian theology, principles, and terminology.
• Previous experience in translating Christian materials is highly desirable.
• Comfortable working with content related to Jesus and Christian teachings.
• Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse religious beliefs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
