Job Summary:
The Milk Procurement Officer/Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of milk from farmers, milk producers, and cooperative societies. The role involves ensuring the quality and quantity of milk, building relationships with suppliers, and optimizing procurement costs to meet the company's production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Milk Procurement Operations :
• Plan, manage, and execute milk procurement activities to meet daily production requirements.
• Develop sourcing strategies to ensure a consistent supply of milk.
• Monitor milk collection centers for adherence to quality standards.
• Supplier Relationship Management :
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with farmers, milk societies, and cooperatives.
• Negotiate competitive pricing and favorable payment terms with suppliers.
• Quality Assurance :
• Ensure the procured milk meets the company's quality standards.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to conduct regular checks on milk samples.
• Data and Documentation :
• Maintain accurate records of milk procurement, including volumes, sources, and costs.
• Analyze data to forecast future requirements and optimize procurement strategies.
• Team Coordination :
• Supervise and train field procurement staff to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with logistics teams for smooth transportation of milk to processing units.
• Compliance and Reporting :
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Provide regular reports on procurement activities to senior management.
