Responsibilities:
Conduct microbial analysis of soil, water, and plant samples to assess the microbiological health of coffee crops.
Identify and characterize microorganisms present in the soil and on coffee plants, including bacteria, fungi, and other pathogens.
Evaluate the impact of microbial communities on coffee plant health, growth, and productivity.
Develop and implement strategies to manage microbial populations and control diseases affecting coffee crops.
Collaborate with agronomists and other researchers to optimize cultivation practices and enhance crop resilience against microbial threats.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to coffee growers on microbial management strategies, including the use of beneficial microorganisms and biocontrol agents.
Maintain accurate records of research findings, experimental protocols, and data analysis.
Stay updated on the latest developments in microbiology and agricultural science relevant to coffee cultivation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Microbiology, Plant Pathology, or related field.
Prior experience in microbiological analysis and research, preferably in agricultural or environmental settings.
Strong knowledge of microbial ecology, plant-microbe interactions, and disease management strategies.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques for microbial isolation, culturing, and identification.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Effective communication skills to convey complex scientific concepts to non-expert stakeholders.
