The manager's overall responsibilities include: management of the applications and database; management of the programming analysis and design function including supervision of the applications programming staff; system management and programming of the administrative computing system. Reviews and analyzes existing applications programs and programs in development to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of those programs; reviews requests for program changes required to meet needs. Works with complex systems & may design design systems; Handles more complex and high level assignments. Reviews performance of applications programs to ensure program efficiency, program documentation. Conducts meetings with Leads to determine data processing requirements based on new project priorities.



Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

Ensure resource availability and allocation.

Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.

Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.

Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.

Report and escalate to management as needed.

Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Perform risk management to minimize project risks


Education - B.E./B.Tech/ M.Tech



Experience - A minimum of 10 years of object-oriented design/development required, Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment. Should have led a team of developers/ Sr Developer and Leads (8 to 10) working on Java and J2EE technologies



Knowledge - Design, code, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements complex software apps. Can research and design solutions for complex issues. experience working on Java and J2EE technologies. Should have exposure to web languages and standards including HTML, HTML5, XML, CSS, CSS3 and JQuery / JavaScript, EJB's, Webservice REST, database and PL/SQL.



Skills

Web MVC frameworks like Spring MVC, Struts2 etc.

JavaScript, JQuery or any other client side frameworks like AngularJS, ExtJS

CSS3 and HTML

Shell Scripts and Linux environment.

Enterprise Service Bus like Mule ESB.

Working knowledge of ETL tools like Informatica etc.

Continuous Integration using Jenkins or similar tools

Internal & External Contacts:

Contact, as necessary, with most Great-West Financial employees and business areas. Role responds to more standard and non-standard, and some complex requests from internal customers; asks standard and non-standard and complex requests of internal customers.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

Should have lead large team of Developers, Senior Developers & Leads. Provides on-the-job training to new team members.

Project supervisory responsibilities, accountable for contribution to project team.
