We are looking for professionals who can conduct assessments, design appraisal work, and/or troubleshoot problems to offer solutions to internal/external clients within defined parameters.

The role
  • Perform statutory design appraisal work and provide solutions for internal and external clients within defined parameters, including adhering to budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards while conducting activities.
  • Propose changes to work scope or processes to improve service delivery effectiveness and reduce appraisal effort, where applicable.
  • Provide internal and external client feedback to contribute to service delivery improvement.
  • Assess and recommend the time and value of work to be carried out for clients within an agreed fee or cost structure.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness by pursuing Continuous Professional Development.
  • Act as a mentor to colleagues and provide coaching to less experienced colleagues as agreed with the line manager.
What you bring
  • A degree or equivalent in engineering or physical science from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd\'s Register (minimum of two years program), or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship\'s officer or engineer.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
  • An in-depth knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and their manufacturing processes, certification and selection.
  • Experience of applying a wide range of national and international standards and codes involving metallurgy.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, at a level commensurate with the requirements of the role, along with effective interpersonal skills.
