Our Mission Critical division is a dynamic and growing unit that specialises in the field of design, due diligence reviews and enhanced testing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems and Mission Critical Applications such as data centres and banking. We have offices in across the region including Hong Kong, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila and Kuala Lumpur. As demand for our services is increasing across the region, we are seeking high quality personnel to meet the existing and future needs of our exceptionally strong client base.The MEP Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the installation and ensuring the quality assurance of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP) systems on construction projects. The role includes, ensuring that all MEP systems are installed in compliance with design specifications, building codes, and project guidelines. Actively monitoring the progress and quality of MEP installations on-site. Identifying, addressing, and resolving any on-site issues related to MEP systems in close coordination with the design team. Acting as the on-site expert and point of contact for all aspects of MEP construction.The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.Key responsibilities of a MEP Resident Engineer:1) Site Supervision:

• Regularly inspect MEP installations on-site to ensure compliance with design drawings and specifications.
• Monitor contractor activities to verify proper installation techniques and quality of materials.
• Identify and address any potential issues or discrepancies with the design or construction process.

2) Quality Control:

• Perform quality checks on MEP systems including HVAC, electrical wiring, plumbing fixtures and fire protection systems.
• Review and approve contractor submittals like shop drawings, material technical data sheets and installation method statements.
• Conduct field testing and inspections of MEP systems to ensure functionality and compliance with standards.
• As build drawing verification at site and approval.

3) Coordination and Collaboration:

• Collaborate with Client, architects, structural engineers, other MEP engineers, Project Management team and contractors to resolve coordination issues and ensure smooth integration of all building systems.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and clients to address concerns and maintain project schedule.

4) Technical Expertise:

• Interpret and apply building codes and regulations related to MEP systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to contractors regarding MEP design and installation practices.
• Analyse and troubleshoot MEP system issues that arise during construction.

5) Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed site logs and reports documenting construction progress, non-compliance issues, and quality control activities.
• Prepare Lesson & learn reports (the successes and failures experienced during a project )for allowing future projects to learn from past experiences, avoid repeating mistakes, and improve processes by incorporating insights gained from previous work, ultimately leading to better outcomes and continuous improvement within an organization

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience 8 10 years.
• Work location: Mumbai
• Strong understanding of MEP design principles and construction practices
• Experience with MEP software (AutoCAD, Revit)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
