We are looking for a Member of Technical Staff to join our Engineering team within our Bangalore division. You are a developer who is well versed in iOS Development, back end technologies and savy about building highly efficient large-scale applications. But enough about us, let's talk about you.

You will work with other teams to ensure a coherent, forward looking product features. You will work with product owners and user experience designers to design and build solutions. Ultimately your work will focus on developing new features, improving product performance and clinical outcomes.

The Team: Epocrates is the no. #1 medical app for clinical decision support systems in the United States having close to a million users around the globe. Most of the doctors trust the data provided in Epocrates and rely on it for prescribing the right treatment. Bangalore Epocrates team is responsible for end to end flow of the Epocrates content including content ingestion, ETL, Search and recommendation and the app development. We are striving to build a scalable software system with latest cloud technologies and provide a great user experience.

Job Responsibilities• Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the appropriate detail
• Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality software components and services in adherence with policies on Security, performance, longevity and Integration testing
• Estimate the size of development tasks in story points with the goal of 80% accuracy; begin to challenge others during estimation
• Understand and follow coding conventions, architectures, and best practices
• Write, debug, and deploy code to production; deliver timely fixes
• Adhere to DOD (story definition of done) as part of the sprint, including unit tests, functional testing, code reviews, no regressions, bug fixes, documentation and adhere to best coding practices


Typical Qualifications• 3-5 years of experience in an engineering role
• Significant software engineering skills and computer science experience
• Relevant experience in iOS Development
• Expert understanding of Swift and Objective-C
• Knowledge of design patterns such as MVC and MVVM, skilled at writing Unit and Automation tests
• Experience with iOS development tools such as: XCode, Cocoa, XIB, storyboard
• Strong sense of good Application UI Design
• In depth understanding of Apple recommended guidelines and best practices for coding
• Experience with firebase, crashlytics
• Experience with analysing and fixing crash issues in the app
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON
• Knowledge of software development best practices including continuous integration, development of high-quality code, reusable toolkit's and libraries
• Experience in an Agile environment preferred
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
