This opportunity enables you to assess externally reported securityvulnerabilities,remediatevulnerable open-source software packages in vSphere & VCF. Besides developing secure software, you will also get a chance to define Security test plans, write and automate new test cases, run security tests using state of the art security test tools. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing Gain knowledge in the virtualization & security domain and the associated technologies End to end ownership of open-source vulnerability assessment, mitigation, and ensuring product quality Build strong repo with product development, product management, and security teams The Work: What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis You will: Discover open-source vulnerabilities and assess their impact to the VCF & vSphere Understand open-source fixes and implement mitigation to VCF & vSphere. Work closely with respective engineering and test team to guide them on the impact of the fix. Work closely with the VMware security team if needed to build exploits and verify open-source vulnerabilities Continuous innovation of process and product for efficiency and quality gain Required : BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Computer Science or similar fields, with 4 to 6 years of development experience. Develop reliable software using Java / Python Good understanding of core computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, operating systems, etc. Perform peer code reviews and develop Automated Unit and Function tests. Team player with a positive attitude and ability to work with a distributed team What is the leadership like for this role What is the structure and culture of the team like This position reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering who manages open-source updates to VCF & vSphere, Testware maintenance, and Security compliance.Most of the team works from Bangalore and the team consists of highly competent engineers at various levels and from diverse backgrounds. You will be part of this established team and working mostly on the open-source software update in VCF and vSphere products. You can also explore to contribute to testware and security compliance projects to learn new technologies.
