Medical Transcriptionist
Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
• To ensure smooth functioning of department, ensuring the reports are generated on time with zero errors.
• Responsible for typing the investigation reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Reports to the department Incharge.
• To transcribe the discharge summaries dictated.
• Ensuring quality of output with marginal or zero errors.
• Ensuring the documents is submitted on time to the consultant for signatures.
• After typing hand over to the supervisor to send for consultant's signature.
• To coordinate with the technicians if urgent summaries are received.
• To coordinate with JMS if dictation required help in interpretation.
• Try and do the discharge summary typing before the patient discharges.
• If the hand written summary received, type and send for consultant's signature.
• To be part of the quality improvement initiative and protocols of the organization.
