Position Title: Medical Auditor
Job Summary: We are looking for a diligent and experienced Medical Auditor to join our team and ensure the accuracy and compliance of our QA process . The Medical Auditor will be responsible for auditing and reviewing the Medical records for a home health agency to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulations, and adherence to Health regulatory standards. The ideal candidate should possess thorough knowledge on Acute and Chronic Diseases (sign &symptom, etiology, prognosis, and treatment plan), and great analytical skills to find out inconsistencies in medical records provided by Hospitals, clinics, and medical professionals to ensure billing and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with health care standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Review Patient's Medical Records, to identify and correct errors in documentation, ensuring that all information is correct and being supported by the info provided by authorized Medical professional
• Ensure compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
• Provide feedback and training to health care providers and QA team to improve accuracy and compliance in their documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of audits, findings, and corrective actions. Prepare reports on audit outcomes and trends.
• Work closely with the coding team, management, and other stakeholders to address coding issues and implement improvements.
• Stay updated on the latest guidelines, industry standards, and regulatory changes.
• Recommend and implement process improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in health information management, healthcare administration, or a related field. BHMS, BAMS, BPT, MPT preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in medical QA/auditing role.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, diseases, diagnostic methods, and related concepts.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and correct errors.
• Proficient in using coding software, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certifications in auditing are a plus.
