The Medical Data Entry Operator is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining patient data, healthcare records, and other critical medical information in the system. The role requires attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work with medical terminologies.
Key Responsibilities :
• Enter and update patient information into the healthcare system, including personal details, diagnosis, treatments, and prescriptions.
• Review medical records and reports to ensure accurate and complete data entry.
• Verify data integrity by cross-checking information with relevant healthcare professionals.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information in compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Perform routine audits to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data.
• Retrieve medical data and provide reports as needed for physicians, nurses, or administrative staff.
• Support the healthcare team by ensuring timely and precise data input.
• Collaborate with IT and administration departments to troubleshoot any data entry or system-related issues.
• Assist with maintaining and organizing both digital and physical health records.
• Stay updated with medical terminology and coding changes to ensure correct data input.
Qualifications :
• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in health information technology or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a data entry clerk, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and other healthcare management software.
• Knowledge of medical terminologies and healthcare data entry standards.
• Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive tasks.
• Basic understanding of medical coding (ICD, CPT, etc.) is an added advantage.
Skills :
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and database management software.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to manage large amounts of data with precision and confidentiality.
