Position Title: Medical Assistant
Department: Department of Clinical Haematology
Reports To: Chief Resident Officer
Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist doctors and medical staff with paperwork and administrative tasks in the ward. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring that medical staff can devote more time to patient care by handling essential clerical and logistical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Support:
• Assist doctors and medical staff with daily paperwork, entering reports and including patient records, medical forms, and documentation.
• Prepare and manage patient files, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
• Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures as directed by medical staff.
2. Documentation and Record Keeping:
• Enter patient information into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Maintain and organize physical and electronic medical records.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations regarding patient confidentiality and data security.
3. Communication:
• Act as a liaison between doctors, nurses, patients, and other hospital staff.
• Relay messages and information accurately and promptly.
• Handle telephone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner.
4. Logistical Support:
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of patient charts and medical documents.
• Help with the coordination and movement of medical supplies and equipment within the ward.
• Facilitate the efficient flow of paperwork and materials between different departments.
5. General Assistance:
• Provide support with non-clinical tasks to enhance the efficiency of medical staff.
• Assist in preparing the ward for patient admissions and discharges.
• Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the ward manager or clinical supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
Skills:
• Strong multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other medical software.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive information.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: ?12,000.00 - ?15,000.00 per month
