Job Title: Machine Maintenance Supervisor

Location: S.F. No. 8, Kariyampalayam Village,Ellapalayam, Annur, Coimbatore,Tamil Nadu 641653

Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager

Job Summary: The Machine Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment within the die casting foundry and machine shop. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all machines, and minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of maintenance technicians.
• Develop and manage work schedules and assignments for the maintenance team.
• Maintenance and Repair:
• Oversee the routine maintenance and repair of die casting machines, CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, and other foundry and machine shop equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks to prevent production delays.
• Preventive Maintenance:
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of machinery and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Schedule and conduct regular inspections and maintenance activities.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and ensure the maintenance team follows all safety protocols.
• Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance department.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Coordinate with production managers to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting production.
• Maintain open communication with management, providing regular updates on maintenance activities and issues.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation of maintenance work, including maintenance logs and safety records.
• Inventory and Budget Management:
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
• Assist in budget planning and cost control for maintenance activities.
• Ensure necessary materials are available for maintenance tasks.
• Training and Development:
• Train maintenance technicians on new equipment, procedures, and best practices.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
• Equipment Upgrades and Installation:
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Plan and supervise equipment upgrades and modifications to improve efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine maintenance, preferably in a die casting foundry or machine shop environment. At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in maintenance or mechanical systems preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to machinery maintenance.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a foundry and machine shop environment, which may involve exposure to high temperatures, dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
• May require standing, walking, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
